SelecTrucks was established by Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles NZ, based in Auckland under Sales Manager John Campbell. The SelecTrucks site is based in Clemow Drive, Mt Wellington.

The successful SelecTrucks brand has been in existence in the US for over 15 years where it's a division of Freightliner LLC. It has been running in Australia since 1998 and is by far the biggest operator of its type in across the Tasman, with a total of 5 branches, employing about 30 people.
